The 2017 WA Wetland Management Conference call for registrations is now closed – we are fully booked!
The 13th annual WA Wetland Management Conference will be held on Thursday 2 February 2017 from 9am to 4pm to celebrate World Wetlands Day.

What is this year’s theme? This year’s theme follows the Ramsar theme for 2017 of “Wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction”. This theme was selected to raise awareness and to highlight the vital roles of healthy wetlands in reducing the impacts of extreme events such as floods, droughts and cyclones on communities, and in helping to build resilience.

Sub-themes include wetland management and restoration, wetland education and wetland policy.

Who will be there? Approximately 160 like-minded wetlanders and over 20 speakers will come together for a day of networking, information exchange and delicious food. The Conference was designed to bring all sectors together so expect to meet community conservation volunteers, landowners, educators, local and State Government officers and private sector environmental officers involved with wetland management.

How much will it cost? Registration fees are kept at a minimum to enable all sectors of the community to attend and promote greater understanding and networking amongst the different sectors involved in wetland management. To make this happen we rely on the generous support of our sponsors. The 2017 fees are:

  • $80 corporate (your rego fee is paid or reimbursed by your employer)
  • $65 general (your rego fee is not reimbursed by your employer)
  • $20 concessional (you are unemployed or a community group member)
